Fr. William Ashley

Hailing from St. John's, Newfoundland, Fr. William F. Ashley was ordained to the priesthood in 1977 in St. Peter's Basilica, having done a degree in philosophy at Memorial University, and an STB and MA in theology from the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas (Angelicum) in Rome. He has served as an elected member of the Presbyteral Council of the Archdiocese of Vancouver, been a hospital chaplain for eight years, and pastor of a number of parishes including St. Ann's in Abbotsford and currently St. Joachim & Ann's in Aldergrove. He was the founding rector of Our Lady of Guadalupe Seminary where he taught theology, and the founding superior of the Ottawa Oratory of St. Philip Neri. Fr. Ashley, the consummate Latinist, celebrates Traditional Latin Mass on Sundays at his parish and prefers to pray the Liturgy of the Hours in Latin.
