Dr. Brook Herbert

Dr. Brook Herbert converted to the Catholic Church over 17 years ago as a consequence of reading the Fathers of the Church. It was there that the radiance of the Catholic faith began to work its glorious wonder.

She received degrees in Education and English Literature at the University of British Columbia in 1970. From there she attended Regent College, where she received her Diploma in Theological Studies, followed by a Master's in Theological Studies, majoring in Spiritual Theology. Ultimately she received her degree as Doctor of Theology from the University of South Africa at Pretoria in the year 2000. Her doctoral dissertation was entitled "Resurrection of Beauty for a Post Modern Church."

Dr. Herbert has taught at Catholic Pacific College for over a decade, offering courses in subjects including Beauty and the Sacred Arts, Ecclesiology, Theology of the Body, and Sacred Scripture.

Dr. Herbert has published in St. Vladimir's Theological Journal and the Homiletic and Pastoral Review. She is currently researching a book which she hopes to publish, directing the laity to their dignity as men and women called to "participate in the Divine Nature."

In her spare time, Dr. H enjoys almost everything that is legal and/or holy and happifying.  She doesn't enjoy "I Love Lucy" or the "Honeymooners," but revels in "The Big Bang Theory," with a particular devotion to Sheldon's mother!

B.Ed. (Univ. of British Columbia); M.C.S. (Regent College, Van.); D.Th. (Univ. of South Africa). Dr. Herbert holds a Mandatum from the Archbishop of Vancouver to teach Catholic Theology.
